The Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH) NHS Trust is the regional teaching hospital for Brighton and parts of Sussex. As part of its carbon reduction strategy, it was decided to test the effectiveness of voltage optimisation as an energy conservation measure at the Audrey Emerton Building at The Royal Sussex County Hospital. The building is not a prime site for voltage optimisation as it was only commissioned in 2005 and contains modern, energy-efficient equipment.
